Views from 102 stories high

Updated: Aug 25, 2023

The empire state building is an iconic landmark in New York City. Although it is not the tallest building, there is still quite a view from the top floor. The first elevator stop in the building brought us to a museum floor with countless photo opportunities. There was an elevator shaft model, King Kong's hand that one could sit in, and more!

On the next elevator stop you could already get a bird's eye view of the city. There were countless interactive exhibits in the building and plenty of things to see. Large windows offered views of New York City (and beyond) from every angle. People and cars looked like little ants and advertisements that looked too big when on the ground now looked like just the right size. Friendly elevator attendants waited on visitors on each floor.

The last elevator stop was to the top of the building. There were ceiling to floor windows and needless to say, the height was rather dizzying at first. Everything was so tiny that it looked like a painting instead of real life. We were lucky to have gotten a perfect day with only a few fluffy white clouds because the visibility seemed endless.

On our way towards the exit, there was an option to purchase pictures that we took on our way in with countless background options. The gift shop had plenty of things to buy too, from keychains and books, to customized chocolates and clothing.

The empire state building is a great place to visit, whether you are a tourist from another country or a friendly state neighbor.
