Someone dropped Mt. Fuji in New York!?

We have always wanted to visit Mt. Fuji; however, we never knew until we drove to Woodbury Mall that all we had to do was drive an hour north to get there!

On August 23rd, 2022, we made a very brief visit to Mt. Fuji in Hillburn, NY. We learned about the restaurant while driving on I-87 North, and at first we thought it was either a hotel or resort from a distance. After doing some research, we found out it was a cool Japanese Steakhouse on top of a mountain, and of course we were interested in checking it out.

The restaurant didn’t open until 5 PM, so we called to make a reservation as soon as they were open, but unfortunately they said that they couldn’t seat us that evening.

We were too curious, so we decided to travel up the mountain anyway and to see the restaurant. Once we got to the restaurant, we were greeted with the Fushimi Inari Taisha, and then we had to travel up a steep mountain to get to the top.

After we parked, we walked around and saw many examples of beautiful Japanese architecture. The inside of the restaurant was split between a hibachi dinner show area, and a lounge.

Although the restaurant looked fantastic, we were still puzzled why we couldn’t get a reservation earlier since the restaurant looked only half full. After collecting a brochure, we left Mt. Fuji and went down the steep mountain.

Next time we go to Chester, NY, we hope that we can get a reservation and revisit this restaurant.
