Medieval Times

March 11, 2023

On March 11th, 2023, we visited Medieval Times in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. We had visited before, but this would be our first visit in roughly ten years. When we went online to purchase our tickets, we were able to get a free upgrade to VIP passes which made the experience.

Upon our visit, we thought the parking lot was a bit chaotic because there weren’t many parking spots, but we were also dealing will people who were leaving the prior show.

We waited about fifteen minutes outside of the building to enter. Also, we didn’t have any service while entering the queue and worried it would impact retrieving our virtual tickets, but fortunately we discovered that they could look us up on their computers. Printing tickets out is convenient, but optional.

After checking in, we were given two VIP passes because of the upgrade, and then we walked around the lobby and gift shop.

The gift shop was really cool because the area was well decorated, there were many souvenirs that we enjoyed looking at, and we were greeted by the falcon that was going to fly over our heads later.

Because of our VIP access, our seats were in a higher row, and offered a better view of the show. All rows had spaced out the groups attending, making it more comfortable if you do not like sitting close to strangers.

The food was pretty good at the event. Our first portion was tomato soup with garlic bread, half oven-roasted chicken, corn, and mashed potatoes, and then an éclair. There are some options available for vegetarians or people with food allergies (also viewable on their website).

We loved seeing the show, and the highlights for us were watching the falcon fly over our heads and the jousting show.

One aspect of the dinner that was different from other shows we have seen was that we could either leave a cash tip or Venmo the tip to our server.

All in all, our experience at Medieval Times was great, and we plan on revisiting (with VIP passes) in the future.
