Il Goccino Ristorante

Madison, New Jersey

30 March 2024

After a visit to the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts, we walked through town and opted to try one of the many restaurants there for dinner. It was hard to decide at first, and most were not yet open (we finished viewing in early afternoon and went shopping for a bit).

This restaurant wasn't open yet, but we tried calling to see if anyone would answer and ask if there would be any reservations available. Not only were they nice over the phone, they told us to walk in whenever we were ready, even if it was before their official opening hours.

We made it there shortly before opening hours and they were very hospitable. It was in the middle of the shopping area of Madison, and parking was easy as there was a public lot behind the restaurant. We were lucky they were able to take us because by the time we were finishing our meal, the restaurant was starting to get packed.

We tried a specials appetizer of portobello mushrooms with a unique balsamic sauce and melted mozzarella. Then, we tried two different pasta dishes, both with unique sauces. The flavors of the sauces used in each dish were different from what we were used to or expected, but they made the dish stand out. We were too full for any dessert, but we're sure that would have been delicious too.
