Funplex is a small family entertainment center located in southern New Jersey. I visited the park for the first time on August 22nd, 2023, just to experience one of their coasters and to see if it's worth a day trip.
I visited this family entertainment center on a Tuesday afternoon in the summer, and it was moderately packed. Nearly all the parking spots near the entrance were taken up, so I had to roll down my window and ask a security guard where to park. Fortunately, he told me that there was additional parking behind the arcade, and after searching for a little while, I eventually found a parking spot.
Since my goal was to experience their one coaster named "FunCoaster," I tried to see if I could pay just for one ride on the coaster. I even saw videos of other roller coaster enthusiasts visiting the park and being able to pay for one ride; however, this option was unavailable during my visit. I paid for an all-day pass that allows me to experience every attraction in the park.
FunCoaster is a solid spinning wild mouse coaster. The coaster spun a few times during the second half of the ride which was exciting. This coaster ran with three cars, but it only ran with one car going through the layout. I find this odd because I know that they could dispatch more cars because of the several block zones on this coaster. In addition, the car ran very slow during the first half when I rode by myself, and I thought that the car was going to valley.
I didn't experience any of the other attractions, but I saw that the park had bumper boats, a golf course, go-karts, and a water park which is the main draw for visitors. The park was also clean, all the staff members I interacted with were nice, and it seemed like the park was well taken care of.
All in all, I would recommend getting to the park early and bringing a family to this park because there are many activities that each family member can experience. I hope to experience this park again one day with my family members during the summer.
