On July 27th, 2024, we visited the Friar Mountain Model Railroad Museum in Sparta, New Jersey. We heard that it was unfortunately closing the day after our visit, and since we had heard many wonderful things about this museum, we drove out to Sparta to check it out.
This is the best train railroad model I have ever seen. We spent an hour together at this museum, and the hour went by very fast because we were so invested in the railroad model. I saw six trains in the model, many miniature houses, a mountain, a replica of the High Point Monument, and so much more.
There were also small exhibits about George Washington and other New Jersey history that we read about during our visit.
I heard that in August of 2024 that the parts from the museum will be auctioned off. After seeing this model, we really hope that someone can preserve this phenomenal piece of art without changing it.
