Andersen Farms

Sparta, NJ

27 July 2024

On the way home from visiting a museum in Sparta, NJ, we came across a family farm that had homemade ice cream. When we walked in, we saw that they had a cute farm store, flowers/plants for sale, and a nice little ice cream and coffee area. They even had chickens and goats at the back of the farm. We had asked how long the farm had been around and one of the workers told us it had been around for about 15 years but had started as only a small tomato stand near the road.

Out of all the ice cream flavors (which all seemed delicious), we opted to try the Lemencello vegan ice cream made out of oat milk and coconut milk. It had a great flavor and we found that the “mini” size was definitely not mini! It was two large scoops and was more than enough for the two of us.

After finishing up our ice cream, we walked around the store and looked at the various things for sale including local honey, local food items (including mozzarella and burrata), craft items (bags, decorative items, soaps, etc.) and more! It was a cute find and we’ll definitely stop in for more ice cream the next time we are in the area!
